Howdy Friends,

Brand new to backyard chickens and have 3 silver laced Wyandotte (one was suppose to be a cuckoo Maran), and all are suppose to be pullets.

All 3 have the same hatch day and are 8-weeks old.

All 3 have the same size comb and waddles, but one is yellow, one is red, one is dark red.

What gender do you think and why?

First 2 pics are Lady

I've only had one wyandotte so far, and by the time she was 10 weeks old her comb and wattles were so big and red I thought for sure she was a cockerel. Comb development can be an early indicator but isn't always accurate. Every bird develops at slightly different rates, but I would say that of your 3, since none are showing a significant difference, you probably have all pullets.

It'll take a few weeks yet to really tell... just keep an eye out for (mostly white) long pointy hackle and saddle feathers and iridescent black tail feathers. Those are rooster traits for SLW.
