Chicken genes and how does lacing/ double lacing work :question:

I’ve owned my own chickens for about 5 years now but haven’t been getting too much into genetics until 2 years ago. I have a basic understanding of colour genetics and all that hocus locus but I’m still lacking when it comes to understanding the complexity’s of lacing and double lacing, how they cross with each other and other genes and how it effects the aesthetics of the bird.

This summer we put up new pens for my flocks and now I’ve decided to give breeding a go. I have a double silver laced barnavelder as my rooster and then hens include a Vorwork, blue laced Wyandotte, lavender Sussex and another double silver laced barnavelder to pair well with the rooster.
If any pros could explain how the lacing gene works and how it might pair with the hens and how it’ll effect the offspring that’ll be great.

I know that my rooster does not carry the lavender gene so all the babies produced from my lavender Sussex will be black/ black based birds but I have no idea how lacing will even effect the offspring for my vorwork, I have no clue what genes create the stylish vorwork but I love it

Silver double lacedxBLR gives you blue laced red silver and black laced red silver with some double lacing. The cockerels will be heterozygous for gold

Just one gene apart. Now we also have the mahogany and silver and blue gene involved so the offspring will actually be

Ope, I didn't take into account that the Barnevelder was silver laced, not red laced. I also wasn't expecting the Lakenvelder to be gold. I sort of just read the breed names and ignored the rest.
Lemme go back and fix that.

Unfortunately this morning a fox got into their pen this morning, seems like it squeezed through under the door after digging a hole. Found the remains to my beautiful hen “baked bean” who is the blue golden laced Wyandotte and my vorvork “cheese” has gone missing and I can’t seem to locate her or any of her feathers.

Fortunately I’ve had a hen gone broody so I’m going to put any of their possible eggs under her and pray we get some babies
