My 1.5 year old isa brown hen suddenly has dark red skin around her egg laying hole.

There are still feathers in that area so I dont think it is from feather pecking.

She normally lays eggs every day but did not lay today and she has been laying around today instead of her normal walking around and exploring

In case it matters I have noticed the 11 week old male cornish rock mating with her.

They are in a pen. I feed them chicken feed from tsc, scratch grains, people food left overs, grass and weeds.

I would check them at night with a flashlight for mites or lice.

You did not mention how many chickens you have. If these are the only two, she is probably being mated too often.

We have 32 chickens. All but 4 are females. The 4 males are all 11 weeks and younger.

The red patch on her butt skin is spreading up her belly now. She wont eat and is making snoring sounds when she breathes.

I cant get her to eat so Im boiling up some eggs for her since she likes them. I hope she will eat one. None of the other chickens have any signs like this. I did butt checks on them and found no red skin patches.

Im wondering if she has some kind of infection. I have people antibiotics I could give her but I dont wanna do that unless I know she has an infection.

She probably has mites or lice. Get a dog flea/tick shampoo and give her a bath with it, following the directions for how long to let the shampoo set on her before rinsing. Spray or dust the coop thoroughly. You may also want to treat her with ivermectin.
