chicken got a snake

As I tell people. One of my greatest fears is to lose consciousness in my chicken run.

My guineas are great snake eaters! I like having them around. I've seen them sit by a wasp hive and eat the wasps as they flew out. Funny, but USEFUL!

Last week my girls got ahold on 2 toads, one that was fairly good size. It looked more like a rugby match going on than the quest for food. At the end of the day I scoured there area and not a trace of either toad. Had to call in CSI(Chicken Scene Investigation) in for a possible mob hit.

I almost posted a nearly exact story yesterday! I was on the phone with a friend on my front porch and my flock was roaming the front yard. Suddenly there was a commotion and my Lucinda was beating a little snake to death. It was about 8 inches, other than that I couldn;t tell you what kind. They played tug o war with it, too. By the time I got the camera all that was left of the snake was a memory. I like snakes but this was cool to see.
