Chicken grit

You are welcome. I read that in the bochure I got from the hatchery I ordered them from.
It helped a lot. Plus I wanted to know about this. My rooster has been an inside pet. He opens his mouth a lot. Freaks me out. Idk if he's hot or wut. He eats and drinks normal. Doesnt sneeze, have mucus, or coughs. He's normal just has his mouth open a lot

In large commercial poultry operations where perhaps 20,000 or more chickens are housed together, grit is usually fed mixed with the regular food or ration, not fed separately or free choice. Besides saving labor this also has the benefit of scrubbing or scouring stuck feed out of the maniacal or automated feeding machines. It does however contribute to wasting a lot of grit that must eventually be dumped out of the feeders. I prefer feeding both grit and oyster shell in metal cups or tin cans tied to the pen, run, or coop walls where it will remain cleaner and more available.

Chicken ate half of a salted peanut. Will it b ok? Its 10 weeks old. Just scared cuz I told my family member not to b feeding the chicken salty food
