Chicken had wing mauled, but it's acting okay otherwise. How to procede?

Two nights okay we discovered that one of our hens was attacked by something (she had been fine earlier that morning).

The wing bone is broken mid-arm, with the lower radius and ulna poking through the skin. The wing is flopping around, being held on by what seems to be flap of skin

However, she otherwise seems fine. We brought her inside and have been keeping her in a dog cage to monitor her. She is eating, drinking, pooping, and moving around normally. She can even fly up to the roost we put in the cage. She's not acting like she's in pain.

We need some advice on what to do. The wing will have to be removed. We called some local vets, but we're in a very urban area and the cost would be prohibitive.
1) Is there anything we can use to knock her out during the procedure without killing her?
2) What kind of antibiotics should we get, and can we get them without a vet (we have access to human antibiotics if that could work)?
3) Any advice on instruments to use to do the procedure?

Any advice would be very appreciated.

If the wing is only hanging on with a flap of skin it sounds like you might be able to cut that flap and remove it. When there is exposed bone the better antibiotics to use are clindamycin or one of the cephalosporins. I have no experience with removing a wing, and I usually recommend a vet, but if it is only the band of skin holding it on, I would probably do it myself. Clean the area with a disinfectant, such as chlorhexidene (Hibiclens from the first aid aisle) or Betadine (Equate First Aid Antiseptic at Walmart first aid aisle.) Then afterward, apply plain Neosporin triple antibiotic ointment twice a day.

There are some threads here where people have removed wings, and had no infections, but I wouldn’t recommend cutting through the bone or joint. That is usually best done by a vet. However we do what we can do with our pets and farm animals.
