Chicken Has A Dirty Bum

Hi there,

Miracle (Ameracauna) has some brown poo stuck to her vent feathers. I'll get a picture later. She acts fine... a few weeks ago, her 'sister' (Ella, 16 wk. old Light Brahma) had some whitish poo on her bum. She ended up preening it off, or something. I was going to do something, but it vanished. Now Mir has the same thing, only brown and worse. Thanks in advance, and sorry for being confusing.

It can happen. Unless it is blocking the vent, I wouldn't do anything unless it was obviously bad.

I get this mostly in my cochins, who are very round in that area. I'll pick it off once dried. It never blocked their vents.
