Chicken has a hurt leg??

Help please, I just went outside and my 9'week old polish girl was laying on her side in the rabbit hutch. We have had lots of rain. I have a puppy pen around the hutch with the hutch door down.

If I touch her left leg up near the joint she peeps. Not on the right side. Could she have injured the leg in the hutch? I have a cardboard box lid in there with shavings and a bowl of food and a small watered. There is another polish and buff Orpington sharing the space.

I had one of my 3 month olds die Memorial Day. Diagnosed with coccidiosis. My polish were not near these birds. They were still in the house when that occurred.

I have her inside on my lap on a towel. She is supported against my body. She has good head control and is currently napping with her beak in her back.

I just sent my husband to get aspirin.

She didn't want to drink when I brought her in. I don't know how long she has been like this. I took food out 12 hrs ago and she was upright then.

Any help is appreciated.
@nambroth I read the chart and didn't find anything.

She may have injured the leg, but at this age dehydration, vitamin deficiency, and coccidosis are possibilities to look at. Cocci is common with rainy warm weather. I would at least treat her with vitamins and electrolytes, and keep encouraging her to drink. If you think she may have cocci, then go ahead and start some Corid.

Can I put the Corid in the same water as the vitamins and electrolytes?

I started her flock mates on Corid too.
She woke up hungry I gave her water in the middle of the night but right now she wants food. I trimmed her head feathers so she can see better too.

Don't mix anything in the Corid water. If she is eating she will get vitamins. Many don't like to use vitamins at the same time as Corid since Corid works by mimicking thiamine causing the coccidia to become thiamine deficient. The problem is if she needs electrolytes from being dehydrated, most also contain vitamins. Since you are treating with Corid, just make sure she is drinking enough, and save the vitamins for just after Corid.

Good to hear. The vet can test the stool for a large load of coccidia. It's normal to have a small amount present. Give us an update when you can.

She does have coccidiosis. He gave her a steroid shot to try and give her a boost. He gave her Albon liquid for 10 days. He said she has a 50/50 chance.
She has been sleeping all day. Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

Corid treats more strains of coccidia than sulfa drugs, which treat the two worst strains. Wishing her food luck on a successful recovery.
