Chicken has large smelling nasal discharge.


Can anyone help? My chicken has similar problem. Very foul smelling thick yellow (chunky) drainage. Seems feverish too. I started a tetracycline antibiotic and have been trying to get the discharge out of her nose but I can't. I smear it with ointment to loosen it up but it's not working. She is eating and drinking well and still enjoying time out side away from the other girls.
Is there a blockage in the nostril, or does it appear to be an abscess or tumor? Does she have signs of a respiratory disease, such as nasal drainage, cough or sneeze, wheezing or gasping? Here is a link to read about how to clear a blocked nostril, if that is the case:
