Chicken has open wound and flap of loose skin on neck

I forgot to mention another excellent wound treatment is Veterycin. Get some if you don't have it. I spray that onto the wound each day, followed by the antibacterial ointment.

We got her wrapped up and will be calling a vet Monday and seeing if they’ll take a chicken. Everybody is closed on the weekends and I’m hoping Corona doesn’t get them shut down on the week days.

Sorry for being so silent lately on the subject. By the time the vet had responded they thought it was too late to glue it back. They had just recommended to keep spraying it with Vetericyn. We kept her separated for a few more days and spraying Vetericyn on it a couple of times a day. The wound had scabbed over pretty early and there is already skin growing over the wound. The flap of skin is shriveling up and we'll most likely end up cutting it off when the wound is fully healed. She's doing fine and is back with the rest of the flock. I can't thank ya'll enough for the advice! :bow

Glad everything worked out well. And yeah, I know at least with horses, if you are going to stitch or glue something back together you have to do it within a few hours of the wound happening or you have to cut all edges back some to get clean fresh margins.
