I am searching for a vet who sees chickens in the poway california area, and am just not finding one. Can anyone help with a recommendation?
I fell onto my chicken yesterday and she cannot stand on her foot. I can't tell where it is hurt.

@casportpony may be able to help you with a vet. Sorry about your chicken. Have you seen swelling or displacement of the bones? Does the injury seem to be in the foot or one of the bones?

Thank you to all who helped! I appreciate this site so much!
The man I bought her from as a chick directed me to a vet about an hour away and we just came back. I saw Dr. Rebecca DeCastellanos at Rancho San Diego Animal hospital. The Xray showed no break, and the problem mostly seems to be in the foot. I was given an anti-inflammatory pain med and it seems to have helped her. She hobbles a bit, lies down a bit, and hobbles a bit again. She definitely wants to be out with the rest of the flock. She is eating and drinking. I am making sure of that.
I called all those who advertised as Avian vets and they would not see a chicken--can you believe it?
They said no we see parakeets and cockatoos, but not chickens. Maybe I am ignorant, but a chlcken is a bird and I don't see the difference. Maybe there is and I don't understand. But we got to the right place.

It might have something to do with the current outbreak of Newcastle Disease in Los Angeles.

Glad you found someone and hope your bird recovers!

California won't even let vets prescribe antibiotics like Baytril to chickens, one. Two, animal hospitals that did see chickens are now telling people they'll only see them in the parking lot due to Newcastle's. An animal hospital nearby had a confirmed case, and vets now worry that another one will result not only in costly shutdowns but also in mandatory kill orders for any other chickens that happened to be there.
