It might have something to do with the current outbreak of Newcastle Disease in Los Angeles.Thank you to all who helped! I appreciate this site so much!
The man I bought her from as a chick directed me to a vet about an hour away and we just came back. I saw Dr. Rebecca DeCastellanos at Rancho San Diego Animal hospital. The Xray showed no break, and the problem mostly seems to be in the foot. I was given an anti-inflammatory pain med and it seems to have helped her. She hobbles a bit, lies down a bit, and hobbles a bit again. She definitely wants to be out with the rest of the flock. She is eating and drinking. I am making sure of that.
I called all those who advertised as Avian vets and they would not see a chicken--can you believe it?
They said no we see parakeets and cockatoos, but not chickens. Maybe I am ignorant, but a chlcken is a bird and I don't see the difference. Maybe there is and I don't understand. But we got to the right place.
You are right, that would make sense. We are getting Newcastle closer to San Diego now also. So far we are doing good though! It might have something to do with the current outbreak of Newcastle Disease in Los Angeles.

Some vets in California do prescribe Baytril to chickens.California won't even let vets prescribe antibiotics like Baytril to chickens, one.
