Today I discovered that my silkie has a very dry and swollen face. Yesterday I lost a hen who has had the same thing on her own face. It seems she has only had this for a few days, but it has escalated to a bad spot. She’s been sitting on an egg so I haven’t seen her poop. It is also on the back of her neck. Otherwise she seems to be walking around normally. I don’t know what to do and I really want to get this fixed so that it doesn’t spread anymore!!!

Are you able to open the eye? Do you have animal eye drops? It mush be mites. Is she with other birds?
Sorry for the questions I and trying to figure out what it is. But it isn’t fowl pox.

I’m cleaning her face now. I can’t open the eye, and I don’t have any eye drops. Looking around her fur right now.

“ For a homemade eyewash solution, boil one cup of water with 1 teaspoon of salt. Make sure you let it cool before flushing the eye. If you continue to flush, make a fresh mixture daily. For a pecked eye, I recommend terramycin eye ointment after flushing.” From @dawg53 in 2011
