Chicken help!

Hen has been under the weather since Sat, hanging by herself but drinking not eating much Last night she did not roost and started there until I took her out at 9 this morning. Her bitt was wet and she wouldn’t take egg yolk which she normally devours. Took her inside and she pooped a large clear white puddle. Wings are dropped, she just lays down. Seems weak while standing.

Has she had any time in a run eating weeds recently? I once had a chicken poison herself with nightshade berries I didn’t realize were there.

She has been in my yard but mostly grass there some weeds

She could be suffering from a reproductive disorder and passing some shell-less or broken eggs. I would give her a human calcium citrate tablet with vitamin d today, in her beak to swallow, and once a day for a week total. Tums will work today, but the calcium is best. How old is the hen? Has she been laying normal eggs recently? Calcium may help her pass another egg, and she might feel stronger between laying.

She is two. Her shells seemed a little thin. I was starting to wonder if she was beginning to molt but I do have calcium on hand. I took her to the vet and still waiting to hear back but I find that in most cases the people here have more knowledge.

The vet said he thinks she has an infection and gave an antibiotic. She drank a ton of water yesterday and ate eggs and worms. Today won’t eat or drink anything after her dose. Her crop seemed to have something in it though still feels squishy. One green poop and the rest is runny.

What antibiotic and dose did he prescribe? Check her crop first thing tomorrow and daily to see if it has emptied overnight (before she eats or drinks.) Smell her breath for a bad odor when you feel of her crop. If her crop is full and squishy she could be developing a slow or sour crop. Monistat cream or nystatin given orally twice a day, is used to treat sour crop.

One dropper of Clavamox twice daily. 1.0 ML. Ok Thank you! She is not drinking that much. Is it safe to give her water orally by syringe? Like the drops? I have been holding her beak open and putting it at the tip on her toungue for her to work it back so I don’t aspirate her.

She just layed what looks like a very smooshed empty egg. I opened it up and nothing but clear liquid
