My EE/Ameraucana is 6 years old, still laying fairly well, raised about 7 broods of chicks and survived 3 dog attacks and a raccoon mauling. I'm just hatching some of her eggs because I thought she needs some bird friends that look like her in her old days. And olive eggers won't be bad either.
 
Yes, I agree she should have companions.

Great layers, rarely broody. Most of the white egg laying commercial birds are based on the leghorn.
About 50 years ago we kept 100 or so layers for egg sales and occasionally had to send a couple hens to broody jail in the elevated cages.
A few years ago I had a black leghorn that was broody and raised chicks on several occasions.
 
I've eaten a few black Leghorn roosters and the flavor was ok but no, they aren't good meat birds.
They're extremely skinny. They were developed to get the most egg production from the lowest feed consumption. To do that, they can't have much meat on their bones.
