It is really hard to tell what they are unless, the bin you got them in have identification tags on them. Most feed stores tell you what is in there bins. Go back to the feed store and see what was in the bins. I know TSC usually has photos and breed names above each bin.

I agree. All of my local feed stores keep detailed records of what breeds come from what hatcheries which week. They can look back at their list and tell you what breeds were available any given week. They will also tell you what chicks are ordered for future weeks in case you want something specific.

I would also recommend going back to the store (or calling) and talking to the person that does the ordering. That will at least narrow down the list of choices for you/us to look at. You can then take that list and go to: http://feathersite.com/Poultry/BRKBabyChicks.html and compare your chicks with photos of the breeds listed. Not foolproof, but there you go. If you get the name of the hatchery they used (one feed store I use will get shipments from 5 different hatcheries any given week, so it may not be straight forward) and you can go to their website and see if they have photos of the chicks they sell.

Good Luck!

I just got back from the feed store an the lady said there Americana x rode island red

Not sure I buy that. I'd believe EE rooster with a mix of hens -- the light one is definitely showing the greenish legs. But red likes to show through black and white which is why it's used in sex links and I don't see any red at all. It will be fun to see what they end up looking like but I think it's safe to call them barnyard mixes that might lay green eggs someday (in which case I'd call them EEs).
