So I decided to trim my little cross beak Sillkies beak...it bled a bit and of course the other girls wanted to pick at it..I brought her in to hang out until the bleeding stops and here we are! This is her enjoying special time with Mommy
She is the sweetest little thing, always talking to me and wanting to be held. Makes me sad that she has the beak issue...I'm trying to keep it under control and making sure she is eating, but I know that her life may not be as long as the others. I am helping her enjoy her time here, and I think she is happy. She sure loved the petting and Hulu watching LOL!
I have some ex battery hens here with almost no beaks (they burn them off to get them ready for the batteries
)
Anyway... I mix their food with a bit of water to make a porridge and put it in bowls for them. That way they can eat easily and they are about 2 years old now and doing well.
