It is morally wrong. Human beings can suck!I had no idea chickens were genetically altered to grow faster. This seems wrong.
I'm with you m'am. Imagine yourself in that little chicken body and brain. How would you want those giant humans to treat you? I pray you'll give her some love and pleasure the little time she may have! Godspeed to you bothcant kill anything
Yes can you imagine the trauma she went through falling out of a truck going full speed? Also non nurturing humans all she's known? She's got to be confused and very fearful. Sad.I would put it in a small pen and put it outside your chicken run for a least a few hours a day so your other chickens can see it but not get to it. After a week or two, you can introduce. Watch it to make sure that they don't start ganging up on her. She's probably not friendly due to the total lack of human interaction and the fact that she fell out on the highway.

Seeing people mention how a CX won’t live long. I had. CX live with my flock, he lived 2 years. My chickens free range as did he and I left feed out. He would eat pretty much however he wanted. He was a big big boy. So I’d recommend keeping food away from her. They do struggle with their legs more due to weight. But they can be very friendly and smart. He died by falling on his back and unable to correct himself. If you have questions or would like more recommendations, I did have to really give him more attention and care than the others, feel free to dm me.Apparently a chicken truck dropped a white chicken in the divider of a 4 lane highway. I jumped out and got it, brought it home and put it in a small coop. This is day five. Its not friendly, seems healthy. When can i introduce to the others. thanks
thanks for the information and taking the time. appreciate it. have 29 current chickens and also concerned about them beating it up. i have threatened but never had the nerve to kill anything. who's the chicken now. thinking of putting in coop at night while they are sleeping. think that would help? (keep rereading,"eat themselves to death")View attachment 4298476
I use a wire dog crate and put new hens in them with water, food, etc. inside the coop so they can interact through the wire (for at least a week. Then leave the dog crate in there with the door open. I do the initial release early in the morning when I turn them out to get scratch and free range. (lots of distractions). I've never had a problem.the have 5 acres to run all day, 8 x 16 coop at night with auto open door.
I know pretty much everything has been covered in this thread, but did you know you already have a rooster in your flock? Top left in the picture below and bottom right in your profile pic. It's just something else to keep in mind if you're going to keep this bird in case it turns out to be a male as well.if you are responding to me, omg, i dont want a rooster. crap.
