When i went out to feed the chickens and my golden retriever i found 1 of my partridge silkies in my pond soaked to the bone. I dont know how long he was in the pond but i have him in a dry towel right now. Anyone got any ideas on what else to do?

Dry her off and keep warm until she's dry is about all you can do. The good news is chickens are buoyant and float like a duck and their feathers repel water rather well. When one of mine tries to fly across the swimming pool and crashes into the water, she paddles over to the side and hops out and shakes like a dog. Their body temperature is 103 degrees which will help them dry off.

wouldn't hurt to give some warm mash and a little help drying off with a hair dryer set on warm. Mine love it when they get a bath and blow dry on the odd occassion.

I learn something new here every day. It makes sense, but I didn't know that chickens will float like a duck! Thanks for the info:) ~G
