Hi, I'm new to the breeding scene, and I'm starting on Olive Eggers. I only want one roo in my flock so if I breed my F1 OEs back to their father will it create problems? I know it's an odd question because I'm almost certain it would but I'm never sure with animals :p

Thanks!

I read on some previous threads that it would be OK. Supposedly breeding two of-springs together is less ideal.
I don't remember the exact thread and it was some time ago. Me trying to find it would take me a month.. :gig
It was a thread about trying to breed and to archive SOP. It also had a lot of info as to which chickens to cull. I lost interest when the subject got into the 4 letter word heavy,,, (cull)

It is most likely very common, I add in new DNA via a new roo every few years. Until then the current roo takes care of the girls. I am also hanging onto the big guy,,, in his own pad,,

Very common to breed back to parents, sibling crosses might cause problems sooner.
New blood every few years is a good idea.
