Chicken injured in dog attack

Ive been nursing a hen injured in a dog attack for a few weeks now. The wound was on her back, ripping most of her feathers out and only actually tearing into the skin in a couple places. The wound is healing quite nicely and her feathers are trying hard to grow back. She is now eating and drinking enough and even getting herself up and wandering around some (not much, but some).
She had just begun laying right before this happened. She hadn’t even laid a full dozen eggs yet. I thought maybe because she was hurt, or not feeling well, or suffering major shock she stopped laying, but do you think she will ever lay again or is there a reason you know of that she stopped?

She will most likely start laying again once things are back to normal for her. She might be a little traumatized from the attack, poor thing! Her energy is being put into healing her wounds. I had a hen that was attacked by a big mastiff one evening. Ripped out every butt feather, left some nasty gashes. She was in shock that first night, but healed rather fast & beautifully.
