I have 4 chickens and in a small coop. I noticed that one of my chickens was off to side of the coop away from her sisters. When she would try to get near one of my chickens (my barred rock) will peck her waddle. She screams and then goes back to hiding. I have noticed that she has always been on the bottom of the pecking order but its gotten worse. I am worried that it is because my coop is to small. How do I help her? The chicken who always pecked her is not even the leader. I am worried about my little girl. What can I do? I was going to wait till next Spring to widen the run, but should I do it now? She is so careful around the pecker and she does not go hang out with the other chickens if she is near. The pecker has gone up to her in her hiding spot and chased her and pecked her. My coop is 3 by 4 (feet). I need some advice. How do I help her in the mean time? Should I let her out separately and give her time to be free?

somebody is always going to be on the bottom and the outcast in any group of chickens, they will always be getting their rear kicked by multiple members of the flock .. way it is .. as long as they arnt physically causing noticeable injury it will be alright, but you may want to plan for a larger area, the problem will always exist though ..
