Chicken is bleeding out in stool very badly and is lethargic.

Thanks for responding, nuts4chickens.

I wish they would start marking for something besides bovine, but alas....

I will continue to look for a reliable source to back me up, but i believe that Amprolium (Corid) covers all nine chicken-specific cocci strains, and sulmet is ineffective on a couple of those.

I know that Corid is used on goats, rabbits, and i'm sure other animals i haven't investigated yet.

Hadesvi, sorry for temporarily hijacking your thread. I hope your chickens are on their way back to health as we speak.

I treated the birds with the 20% Corid which was the only drug I could find readily available. After making sure i had the dosage correct i went ahead and made a mild wet mash as well, based on a previous post to make sure it got into there systems quickly. The only difference between the 9.6 and 20 is cutting the dosage in half more or less. They looked much better this morning, no blood. I'll let you know more if things don't go right. Couple more questions, i have differing posts on the treatment time, should it be 5 days or 7? Also when can i start giving them the nutridrench, during treatment or after?

Corid is 5 days.

Wait until they're finished with the medicine to begin with vitamins. And then pour it on!

So glad to hear they're doing well!

teaspoons.

Most official recommendations will say one teaspoon per gallon, but reputable chicken folks here on BYC have used and recommended 2 teaspoons per gallon - with excellent results.
