chicken is coughing or sneezing

i got 2 rhode island reds the other night at auction , and i noticed only 1 is either lightly coughing or lightly sneezing , it's very faint but you can hear it , it does not look like a sick chicken , is this a problem or is it a problem starting?

It's a problem. I recommend that you get rid of both birds especially if you have other birds at home. Remember and practice biosecurity.

x2 It could be chronic respiratory disease.

CRD is just that chronic resp. disease. The chickens can be fine for along time then stress will bring it back out.

If you keep these 2 chickens you must not mix them with any of your other birds. Just treat them with Tylan 50 and it should clear up.

In the past I would buy chickens from auctions also. Learned my lesson the hard way when I brought home disease.
