Chicken is pecking me in a mean way.

One of my chickens is pecking me and my siblings in a mean way. What should I do?

Either way, maybe try to be nice to it. Hold it daily, talk to it and pet it. They need to see that you are nice, but also the boss. Good luck!

No. If it's a male, acting friendly and cuddly is almost always a recipe for disaster

Does it leave you alone if you leave it alone? If so, might just chalk this one up to not wanting to deal with the humans and just enjoy it from a distance. I have one girl like this in my flock that she REALLY does not want to be held. But she will still come hang around when treats are offered.

Pecking back may cause it to become scared of you, and think that you are a threat. Has she ever had chicks before, or recently? I know that when my hen hatched out babies, she was very protective and pecked at my hand.

She doesn't leave me alone when I leave her alone. She comes running and starts pecking me.
