Chicken is showing aggression towards me

Welcome!
How old is Norman! Have you been injured? Do you have small children out there?
Some cockerels and adult roosters are polite around humans, and some are not, and only sometimes can this situation be fixed. How about more details here?
There are many articles on the site, and opinions, and wishful thinking on this topic, so be ready to hear them all!

Some people have a conditioned fear response and its not easy to get over. I am afraid of my rooster. I am even afraid of my good rooster that has never attacked me. I wish i wasn't because i love him but i know i cant trust him. I don't want to handle a rooster who is aggressive, period. Just sharing what worked for me. Now they have their own fenced in yard, and he can charge me from behind it and it doesn't matter, he cant get at me or my kids and we can all do what we want.

I've had the same problem, it's pretty normal..this is gonna sound weird but I have a bunch of walking sticks and I've found one curved on one end so I hold it by the other end and use it kinda like a sheild to keep some distance between us, only contact is when I gently push him back if he right there charging me..it don't take much ..just be careful not to hurt him..I also have found that sometimes if I squat down and baby talk him and offer him food first ,-he loves the attention-, he will just hang by my side a walk with me..pretending to eat so he can keep an eye on me..from my experience they can sence fear, if he gets that vibe I've seen it become like a game to them..had one awhile back that could be across the field and see me comming and immediately charge towards me, one time in the middle of his run he stopped and gently picked a peice of popcorn off one of the girls back, gave it to her, then right back to charging to me..lol..it can be scary at times, but don't give up, and know he's just doing his job 😊

Sorry, but while he's running at you, he's ignoring his job!
When you or worse yet, some child, gets really hurt, you may change your focus to what's actually more important here.

I have had hawk problems and all I meant by that is that I know if he's chasing me like that I know he'd chase other things too..so I feel confident he is a good protector..and I have been attatcted from behind before and yes it does hurt..my kids are aware of this and don't go into the chicken yard with out and adult..I didn't mean to come across how ever It was i came across..I appologise
