Chicken isolating herself

I have a blue haze hen who is around 30 weeks old, she always been one who’s not hugely keen on socialising with humans but has been pretty normal with the flock. The last couple days she will leave the coop as normal and eat and drink but throughout the day she has been sitting by herself in the very corner of the garden and just laying their most the day. It’s been a couple days now and today she took herself into the coop at around 5’oclock and has been sat perching in their since. (They usually take themselves in around 7:30) I’ve also noticed she has chicken poop all up her backside which is pretty gross. I’ve tried to pick her up to take a look but the cockerel won’t let me (which is a separate issue I’m trying to sort )
Does anyone know why she is doing this?

I'd remove the cockerel to a crate tonight, and check her to make sure that she does not have fly strike. Good luck.

Thankyou. I will attempt to do this tomorrow (as they’re all locked up now and don’t want to disturb them) fingers crossed she’s fine

This is what I do when I have a bird that is acting off:
I isolate bird in a wire cage within the coop for a day or two....so I can closely monitor:
-their intake of food and water,
-crop function(checking at night and in morning before providing more feed),
-and their poops.
Feel their abdomen, from below vent to between legs, for squishy or hard swelling.
Check for external parasites or any other abnormalities.


Best to put crate right in coop or run so bird is still 'with' the flock.
I like to use a fold-able wire dog crate (24"L x 18"W x 21"H) with smaller mesh(1x2) on bottom of crate under tray.
Then you can put tray underneath crate to better observe droppings without it being stepped in. If smaller mesh is carefully installed, tray can still be used inside crate.

Easiest to grab them off the roost after dark.
