Hi all, I am new to the forum and have been raising chickens for about 1.5 years now. I just lost a Buff Orpington today. She was just sitting around the coop this morning. Let us pick her up VERY easily. Eyes closed or almost closed constantly. Sperated her from other chickens to see if I could see what was going on. VERY lethargic...finally went into convulsions, excreted white milky stools, coughed out a LOT of dirt and died. I have been reading about worms, due to a google search on white milky stools (other diseases seemed not right as she is not a chick. She was about 6 months old). Could this have been it? Any advise appreciated.

Is it possible for you to get a necropsy done on her? I'm sorry you lost her. Coughing out that dirt sounds strange......sorry I'm not much help....maybe someone with more knowledge will come around.....

Necropsy, no...compost pile, yes.
The dirt might have been something completely unrelated. I guess I am more concerned about the white milky stools and the other chickens in the flock!
