I have about 12 1.5 to 2 year old hens. 2 black giants, 3 red comets, 1 golden spec, 1 silver spec, some white leghorns and road island reds.
they were all laying an egg a day, then I moved them to a bigger more open space about a month or so ago. they continued to lay, but it tapered off. I see no signs of molt, no one is broody, the one hen has chicks but she roams on the out side of her coop with 2 of her chicks.

recently i added 4 new hens about 5 months old. and 2 abut 9 months old.Egg production has gone from slow to none. i have gone a week now with no eggs.

they eat pellets, corn scratch, and worms from my worm beds.

any idea what may be going on ? no one shows sign of sickness, they all eat and drink normal.

There have been two major changes in their environment/flock in the past month - both of which have hte potential to impact production and, when coupled, would make a disruption very much expected. Was the move to the bigger space coupled with a move to a new coop? If so, did you do any "homing" of them to the new structure and nest boxes? How big of an area are they now in and is it enlcosed? This could be a matter of disrupted production *or* rogue laying due to having been moved away from their routine nesting sites/boxes - or, even more likely, both.

new coop and area, but they have been in both for a month now. not sure abut re homing, but i put there same nesting boxes in new coop area, which is way more protective than old coop. new area is fences about 50 by 50 feet. i do not see any eggs laying about.
