I use Sardine Oil for bait, (and eat the sardines myself)

I do the same with the water from a can of Tuna

I also pour a little around the trap, and then make a trail leading into it

You can put it on a little dry cat food, or on cotton balls in a small can

Good ideas - I will see what sort of smelly concoction I can come up with

If it's a coon dukes dog proof trap baited with a marshmallow will catch them every time.
