I think one of my chickens got knocked out last night. She got up at like 2am and went into the nesting box (I have cameras in the coop that record based on movement or sound).
On the way back to the roost, she was a little low and ran into the ramp instead of landing on it (from the side). Video shows her falling to the ground and not moving. Video ends.
Yeah, I freaked out too. I grabbed eggs this morning and there weren’t any dead chickens, otherwise I would have been convinced she died. I watched the next clip. It shows that she made it up and was on the windowsill within 5 minutes.
I’m not exactly sure which bird this is and I’m not home yet. I think it’s one of my EEs, but there weren’t any blue eggs this morning, so maybe she went in the box without laying? She was in there up to 20ish minutes.
From that I can see, all birds are moving around okay now. I will check them all when I get home. Anything specific I should keep an eye out for?
Do I need to install a night light? They’ve been laying early (4-5), but this was early for them. I’m in New England, so sunrise is at 7, sunset at 4.
