Some background first- Millie has had a tough few months. She has had pendulous crop for 3 years. Last month part of her crop died off, was removed and she was stitched back together. She's had 2 months worth of antibiotics, just stopped last week. She was very malnourished when she was sick. Still has a very slow moving crop but has put on a bit of weight and is full of energy.
On the 4th she became egg bound. I soaked her and felt around inside her. Felt an egg and circled my finger around it. She then pooped out a partial shell. She had an egg break in her (which I thought all came out) months prior. Then with a little assistance she laid a rubbery egg. She prolapsed a bit but it went back in. Her bottom now looks weird. A little swollen and her vent protrudes out a bit. Not prolapsed.
The 6th she laid another soft shelled egg, prolapsed a bit but it went back in.
The 8th early morning I found just egg white in her cage. No shell, no yoke. I'm sure she ate the yoke.
The 9th In the evening I found broken yoke and white in her cage no shell at all.
The 10th - In her poop I did find tiny bits of tan shell colored mushy chunks that I'm wondering could be shell. Not like lash egg bits. I'm unfortunately, very familiar with what that looks like.
The 11th (this morning) found just egg insides in her cage no shell.
So I guess my question is, is there definitely shell inside her someplace? I'm afraid to go rooting around inside there and make things worse. She is absolutely fine. She is full of energy. I've been giving her half a calcium pill a day. This bird has never ending issues but seems to just keep bouncing back. She has my nerves frayed though!
