The other day I found something weird in the hen house. 2 yolks (one bigger than the other) laying practicaly on top of each other, there was no shell or broken pieces anywhere around...but there was a tissue like substance with it. It felt like wet toilet paper. The yolks were intact and looked perfect like someone was trying to fry an egg in there. Has anyone else ever heard or had anything like this?

From what I have read, common with new layers. My 2,3,4th eggs were all either soft shelled eggs and 2 had no shells at all. the 1st and 5th one were perfect. I think they are just getting adjusted.
