Chicken laying inconsistent???

Hello everyone. Been a bit since I have posted anything. I have a question about one of my chickens laying habits. My birds are now a little over a year old. The Easter egger was laying an egg every day and then one day she layed a tiny egg. A little bigger than a quarter. When we busted it open it had no yoke. So I was like okay no big deal. Well now since that day. She has gone from every day to laying an egg every other to every third day.
I have always noticed this bird lays on the nests the most out of all of the birds. So I thought maybe she is getting broody. But she hasn't gotten mean or anything and she is not always on the nest I mean I don't have to kick her off of it or anything. She hasn't layed any more small eggs. Her eggs are normal sized now just very inconsistent.

First it takes approximately 26 hours +/- for a hen to lay an egg. After laying a hen must receive 2 hours+/- of light for the pituitary gland to restart the process. Every egg laid will be laid later each day until they skip a day.

Nothing lays with the consistency of an old pullet hitting that one year mark. After that production will slow but by bit each year. It just happens.

If she healthy, acting normal, eating and scratching in the run and active with the flock and her comb is still bright red than it may be a case of 'it is what it is'. If her comb color isn't as intense and more on the pink side she could be going into a partial molt.

The comb color is probably the first obvious indication of a chicken with a problem. If its grey or blue or anything but a healthy red or pink there's a serious problem. I just lost a hen. In the morning the flock was happy, active with the usual bickering of you might be too close to me. That evening a hen was listless with a blue comb. The next morning she had her toes pointed up. No.sour crop, stuck egg just a dead chicken. I get one or two at the most every year.
