Yes completely normal! They sort of go into a trance like state for a bit. It looks scary but it's all good!

I've seen mine drop low and roll back and forth in the dirt, kicking their feet to get the dirt on their feathers startling to see at first- then just funny but very much normal chicken sun-dirt bathing behavior.
