When I went to collect eggs today, my oldest hen was standing in a nest, and underneath her was this kinda gross lump of something she had just "laid." She hasn't laid any actual eggs in maybe a year, and while she usually seems to be in fine health, recently she's been a bit sluggish, sometimes standing apart from the other birds with her tail down. A few months ago her stomach was large and hard, making her sort of waddle and look generally uncomfortable. Over the summer it somehow got better, she looked normal and walked great and ate and socialized with the other ladies like always. Buuut it seems like it might be puffing up a bit again? And now this weird lump. Maybe the two things are not related, but just in case I figured I should supply that information.
So the lump thing is kinda gross but I took pictures in case anybody could tell me what on earth it is!

The stuff stuck to it is just hay. It's pretty solid, though a bit spongy. Please, if anyone knows what this is could you help? Is there something terribly wrong with my bird, and if so what can I do for her?
Really appreciate any and all advice here.
