I have a 15 week old cream legbar that has an injury and I don't know what to do. I let my chickens out of the coop yesterday and a few hours later, she wasn't able to use her leg. I do not think she was attacked by anything because she is not missing feathers/bleeding etc. She can't flex her claws around my fingers or put any pressure on the leg. She hops on the one leg for a little bit and then just lays down. I can move her leg around and she is not in pain (or at least it's not apparent), however the leg seems life-less. I put her in a dog kennel in my house yesterday afternoon and I'm watching her, I don't know what else I can do. Does anyone have suggestions? She is chatty and eats/drinks fine as long as the food and water are in front of her. I plan to call my vet today but I'm pretty sure he does not look at chickens. Any help is appreciated. She is so sweet, I'm worried she may not recover.

Does she hold the leg up, or try to walk on it? Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease? Do you see any green bruising, redness, or swelling over the entire leg and foot? Look for any scabs on the footpad. I would separate her in a wire dog crate near food and water. Human B complex vitamins 1/4 tablet daily can be given for leg health. Crush it in food or in a spoonful of water.

She holds it up - does not try to walk on it. Not vaccinated for anything that I'm aware of - we got her from my sons classroom this spring (they hatched chickens in the classroom). No bruises or swelling, no cuts, no bumble foot. I have her in a small dog kennel, I will try the B complex vitamin - thank you! If you think of anything else, let me know.

Did you notice it recently? Were there other chickens with her? Is it could there? if its cold she would do that to warm up. My chickens also stand like that... Tho would you mind to put some pictures up? That would help a lot :D
