Chicken - lethargic, head tucked in wing, runny poo

If you have some buttermilk or yogurt, you can give some to the sick girl--if she has coccidiosis, it would coat her intestines and soothe them until you get meds. Be sure and treat all of your chickens with the Corid at the same time. This drug will be in the cattle meds section--in either a packet of dry powder or a container of liquid. Don't buy the big container of liquid--it is pricey and you could never use all that.

I'm not posItive, but in Canada I think you have to get Amprol or Corid (amprolium) from a vet. People have posted that they just go in and ask for amprolium and the vet sells it to them.

Wormers aren't easy to get either... Don't think you can get liquid Safeguard or Panacur (Fenbendazole 10%), but you can get the horse paste. Doesn't matter which one, liquid or paste, the dose is the same.

1ml of paste = 1ml of liquid. My vet recommends worming at 50mg/kg by mouth (.5ml per 2.2 pounds) and repeat in ten days.

Hey all, just an update ... It has now been over a week since I reported and all seems to be well with the flock. I didn't treat for anything, I just used the. "Wait and see" method and so far, so good. I'll keep you posted if there are any changes. I should report that today is the first day since they started laying back in October that I didn't receive any eggs. We had a real cold snap here that started yesterday... Do you suppose that has anything to do with it ?
