Chicken Lice: What Worked for You?

Any update to this? Im dealing with it as well. Just dipped everyone today in a permethrin solution and deep cleaned the coop.

I use permethrin and it works well for me. It even eliminated the flies. It does take a few weekly applications. My main culprit was mites.

Personally I think permethrin works just as well as Elector PSP at a fraction of the cost.

Its horrible this year. My layers caught it first (layers are 2 years old)... This year i added some from hatches and stores. I kept those grow outs separate from the older girls and they STILL got it being in a different part of yard. They dont share any spaces. Is it just inevitable from the wild birds?
