chicken lice

We need help we have found lice on our chickens and know how to take care of it but can the lice from the chickens transfer to humans

I second the sevin dust. I noticed it on one of my hens,so I put the dust in the dust box,and all over the roost. I did try to put a chicken in a bag with the sevin,but they tore the bag.Instead I just grabbed each hen(and then the roo) and dusted their butts and under wings. Do it after a week or 2 to get the ones that hatch.
