anyone know what could be wrong with my leghorn? I noticed her limping today. I didn't see any injuries or swelling, no broken bones that I can tell but there are a couple places on her leg that look green under her skin. On the top of her foot and some up her leg toward the joint. (don't know how well the picture shows)
just a sprain? or something more serious I should be concerned with?

I'm not sure. I have a rooster that gets things like that. I really don't know what it is. I did find though that I treated him for leg mites - I just slithered vasoline over his legs and feet. The scales on his legs felt raised and I was told that the leg mites cause it. Since doing that, I haven't seen as much discoloration. I would go ahead and do it for all of your flock though. I'm thinking that if one has them, probably all of them do.

Have you checked the bottom of the foot for bumble foot? I'm concerned that the green might indicate infection spreading.

It also appears to have scaly leg mites the way those scales are starting to lift.
