Chicken losing feathers

[Summer Hill chickens]

I have two chickens, one is a maran, the other is an EE. They’re both 8 months old.

I noticed today that my maran was loosing feathers around her neck. Both chickens stopped laying eggs since our first frost around a month ago. Besides feather loss and low egg production neither chicken is exhibiting health issues. What could cause feather loss like this?

Watch your chickens some afternoon for an hour or so. I bet you see the EE nibbling on the marans' neck. Order some pinless peepers for the EE. That should stop this behavior.
