Just noticed this on one of our girls . Bald spots with some scabs, Looks pretty concerning. We’ve noticed that she has been looking a little thin lately. She’s still laying and is still active during the day. She is a RIR just over a year old. Has had no previous health issues. Shares coop with another RIR both raised together since 1 week old. Looking for advice. Thanks in advance.

Looks a bit like she is being feather picked. Look her over for lice and mites under her belly and elsewhere. Watch them together to see if the other is keeping her from food, or picking her feathers. What do you feed, and does it have enough protein?

I’ll have to watch them to see if she’s being kept from food. No mites. We just also noticed that our 12 year hadn’t been feeding them as frequently as normal. The feed we use is purina layena omega 3 has 16% protein.
