Chicken lover newbie

Welcome to BYC - have you visited the Learning Center, it is a great first stop - then I suggest "Raising Backyard chickens " forum- the tab concerning incubation and hatching.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X3 on post in the Incubating and Hatching eggs forum about your incubator, if you know what brand you have, that might help figure out how to regulate it better. Still air incubators they usually recommend running at 101.5 - 102*.

Hi all! I fell in love with a game hen that flew into my father-in-law's yard. He asked all of his neighbors and no one knew where she came from. Everyday I would drop by his house to check on her and feed her. One day, Dad said that he would build me a coop at my house if I would take her home. She was pooping all over his patio and he was tired of it. :) So, we built her a coop out of recycled materials and brought her home. We have had her now for 2 months and she just started laying eggs! My husband said that I would have to get rid of her if she didn't lay any eggs. She must have heard him. :) I have been researching everything I can find about chicken raising and found your site!
I ordered 10 barred rock chicken hatching eggs through the mail on Friday. They should be here by tomorrow and I can't get my incubator to stay at 100*. What do I do?
Welcome to BYC!! If you have any further questions you can post them in the Incubating eggs section!!

Since you are hatching eggs, you can alos join the April Hatch-A-Long, you will love it there, the memebrs are nice and your q's will be answered!
