Good Morning Everyone,
New to BYC buy have had my chickens for about 6 years now. It was difficult to convince my husband to let me get them so I bought 6 brought them home and said I need you to build me a coop. We now have 3 coops plus 1 handicap coop and 3 runs. All total we have about 30 chickens. We also have a 200lb. English Mastiff, a cocker spaniel, 2 cats and 2 guinea pigs. our chickens are a mix of everything but as a hobby we have begun to breed our pair of Jersey Giants in hopes of spreading the love. we have guinea hens as well but I understand most people dislike them. They clean up ticks like there is no tomorrow. Anyway, I am always visiting here looking for information and thought I would join and learn. Hopefully I too will be of help to someone.

Hi Shell,
welcome-byc.gif

I just said hello to you over on someone else's thread but figure another one wouldn't hurt!

Thanks for joining us!

Hello and :welcome
We are glad you joined us! Wow you have got a big brood of pets! I have a lot of chickens myself too, about 21 including 4 Roos. I also used to have two Guinea pigs. They were the sweetest things! This is a great site to research, learn, and teach what you know about chickens!
Once again :welcome

Welcome to BYC, Shell. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm glad your husband changed his mind about the chickens and built a coop for you.) If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Nice to meet you Shell. Welcome to Backyard chickens. I used to breed and show Cockers. I bet the predators are giving your place a wide berth with a 200 lb Mastiff waiting for them.
