I love having Rhode Island Reds in my flock too. Sadly one of my reds passed away on Monday, but my other one is turning 9 in April.
that is so sad that you chicken passed away it breaks my heart when mine do the oldest hen i got will be 11 this year she was born in 2008 she is a mixed not sure what with but she is the best hen i got every time she goes setting on the eggs she hatches every time . know i will cry my eyes out when she passes. I have seven Rhode island red hen three i bought at tractor supply in March 2017 and four I bought in May 2019. the rooster i bought in 2017 also have a feather foot hen i bought at the flea market . two that are mixed from the Domer rooster i use to have and the Mary Jane the white rock hen i had that passed away last month from old age. two black and white hens that my neace bought last year at tractor supply and gave me. and mid night my black hen my neace gave me she had bought last year also she is some kind of asian black. I love giving my nephews some chickens along the years to get them a start . to see the same love for animals i have is something I just love to nurture,

I had a white leghorn/australorp who lived up to 12 and a half. She passed away in 2018 though.
