Chicken making noise like purring

I'll see what I can do. We are going to have a check on her tonight when it gets darker and try rubbing her crop and maybe even try to look down her throat. Never done that before! What's the best way to add a photo or video to this site?

Purring is a normal sound

I had to reconsider the description of purring. Someone thought it sounded more like HeeHaw. See video. I know it's quiet, the closer I got to her she got more upset...

It sounds like a honking sound every time she breathes.....I have not a clue what would cause that, I'm sorry. Maybe somebody else has more experience with this.

Nothing seen down the throat. Hard to keep the head straight! I was also rubbing her neck and crop and seeing if I squeezed slightly it may move the obstruction on-if that is what it is!

Welcome to BYC! Enjoy the site and don't hesitate to ask about any queries. I am really sorry, but have little to no idea what is going on with your bird. I hope you will get some help and that she recovers. I don't think that this is a problem to do with the crop.

Ok, thanks for that. We'll see how she is today. Frustratingly, the last time one of the girls became ill, I was phoning around and there are no poultry vets in my area, they mostly deal with livestock like horses and cows and sheep. I guess chickens are just considered disposable.
