I am new to forum and to raising chickens. I got an original bunch in May and a fox got all but one. Then in June I got another bunch that all are still good. The older one has been making rooster sounds and it’s things on its head have grown bigger thank a hen should have. She has not laid eggs yet either.
I read about gender transformation in some hens when ovaries don’t form right. Anyone know about this and will she produce eggs? Also tips to get her to stop crowing. I am hoping she can still lay eggs.
thanks for any advice. I added a pic of her.

I'm sorry, but that is most definitely a cockerel. Very handsome boy!
As for ways to get him to stop crowing... I've heard of people somehow training their roosters to be quiet, but there are also crow collars. There seems to be a lot of controversy about the collars, but it's a personal decision -- I'd take some time to research them before deciding.
Of course, there are also the options of either butchering him -- freshest chicken you'll ever have -- or selling him.
I hope that you can figure something out, and good luck.

Thanks all for the replies. So is this a hen that turned into a male?? I read how some hens have damages to ovaries that become she-make I guess. I purchased her with the rest of the hens assuming all were hens. I really don’t want a rooster or a hen that thinks she is a rooster because of the noise and my neighbors.

How many ways can it be said.... You have a male chicken.

It's a boy and always has been a boy. If you purchased it as a girl, she was incorrectly sexed.
