Chicken manure poop tea?

I want to try this for my garden and want to know if anyone has and how they have done it. I have read that the chicken manure should be well composted but my chicks are only a month old. I have a pile of poo and pine shaving along with other composted things going right now but am wondering how long it has to age? I have a 55 gal drum that I was going to fill a pillowcase full of poo with and let it seep for a couple of weeks and give it a try. I wouldn't use it on any veggies that grow in the ground like carrots or lettuce but I thought what is the harm of pouring a little side dressing to my tomato, pepper plants? Has anyone ever done this? Any secrets you care to share if so? Thanks in advance!

Give it a try, but do so sparingly at the start. I once worked at a horticultural facility where we used a fresh cow manure 'tea' on roses. I'm a little concerned that the nitrogen content of fresh chicken manure might burn plants? Hopefully someone has experience with this procedure.

I have read soooo many different things about it and wonder what is the best. I have heard of people adding molasses, Epsom salt, hydrogen peroxide to kill BAD bacteria and so on... Don't know what to do or what NOT to do. Trial and error I guess. I have 20 tomato plants so maybe I'll just try it on 1/2 and experiment and see what happens!
