chicken math is already pushing me to get more chicks..

and mine aren't even officially in the coop yet! Our coop will be officially done tonight

and my first batch are almost 12 wks old and more then ready to be in there.
I'm already tempted to get a few more now that i have an empty brooder! lol. Must not buy more chicks....must not buy more chicks....

I know the feeling. I have 9- 9 wk olds in coop,16- 3 week olds in brooder, 30 eggs in bator and looking on line for more chicks, Husband says I thought you were done NEVER I say with a evil laugh lol

For those of you who are able to buy all these extra chicks and incubate eggs - do you have lots of space to accommodate any excess? I live in the city and have a decent sized yard, but am still very limited on what I can have. We have 3 chicks and 2 ducklings at the moment, and I would love to get more.. but must mind the space we have! We have room for more, but I got a female chocolate runner duck and an unsexed/straight run blue runner, so I'm planning for the 'just in case there are babies' route. So if we get extra, we have room, and if we get excess, I have family members and friends who are more than happy to take them for eggs or meat. If I had more space, I'd have a roo and so many more birds.. but currently, city regulations force me to keep myself under control

I live about 45 minutes from you outside of Shelton on just shy of 6 areas, surrounded by THOUSANDS of privately owned logging land. We have 16 chicks and could easily have twice as many. We use two acres for an established yard for our family. So I have plenty of room for the chickens.

I drive through Allyn about once a week or two! I would love to have more space, without sacrificing being too far away from work. I suppose I must be patient
