Chicken Math. Or "The story of how I didn't want chickens and got hooked"

Boy, she does look beat up and her comb is so pale. Thank you @azurbanclucker for rescuing her and giving her a home. Blessings on you....:hugs

The pale comb was really just bad lighting from the flash on my phone. She's in great health overall, just looks ratty. :) She's a good girl and a great add to our flock.

The lice-infested Lavender Ameracauna did not make it. Gidget is also doing poorly. I've been syringe feeding her sugar water and gatorade to try and perk her up. We'll see if she pulls through. So stressed, I don't like losing birds.

Truly sad your chickens and you are going through this....my heart is broken because of your loss:hit

Oh, that's awful. I'm so sorry.

Can you get some elemental sulphur from a farm store? It is supposed to be good against parasites, is non toxic, pretty inexpensive and you can dust your birds directly and/or add it to their dust bathing areas. Sprinkle it round their coop as well.

I sure hope you don't lose any more! I understand your frustration - I spent at least 6 weeks battling red mites in my coop last summer.
